No SSID Broadcast

I followed oojoshua's instructions and the PXE went well. I then followed later directions (josh too?) on getting the password changed and making the thttpd.conf file stick. I rebooted checked it out and I logged into the web interface and changed the channel and ssid. Rebooted again, tested and it was all good.

The problems happened when I unplugged and repositioned the boxes into a mini network. I turned on the first box and was not able to get the SSID to show up on an XP laptop. I tried a second box and the same thing happened. I then tried to plug in to the wired interface and now it won't issue an address to my laptop.

I am sure I missed a step and would really appreciate the help.

Got GUI and what know?

Hi, I've setup everything with GUI. When Connected wirelessly can't get any communication. No IP address from DHCP. Even if I set it up by hand it doesn't works.

DHCP Server Conflict With MS ICS

If you are putting a economy node (old computer booting from CD-ROM) on a Microsoft-type network, one using Internet Connection Sharing, you must start that server before you boot the node. ICS will shutdown if it detects another server on the network leasing out IP's. If you start the CUWireless node before the ICS server is booted, then it will act as a server because nothing is assigning it an IP.

Of course this only applies to the standard image (I'm using 0.5.7), you could mod the source with hard networking settings. Also; this is probably not an issue if you have a reputable power supply.

But if you are running ICS, keep in mind: ICS will shut itself down if another DHCP server is detected on the network during boot.
